Susan "Suzie" Daversa, LPN, who works in Medical Staffing Network's Altoona, Pennsylvania, office, touches lives in unique ways. While her nursing colleagues praise her for her outstanding skills and compassion for patients, there is another side to her caring. During the school year, Suzie holds a position in the Special Education Department of the Altoona Area School District. During the school days, she takes students all over the school exposing them to different sights, sounds and smells for special sensory lessons. During the 2005-2006 school year she acquired a very special student who requires a ventilator. This student represents the highest level of acuity accommodation ever offered by the school district and Suzie was key in making this opportunity possible. Suzie's compassion and caring have made all the difference in touching these young lives.
Touching lives is simply second nature to Suzie Daversa. In the fall of 2005, Suzie's sister lost her home to a fire. Since then, colleagues noted that Suzie has donated all of her paychecks to help her sister rebuild her life. Through her selfless actions, Suzie truly epitomizes the TOUCHlives spirit.
